I was in a familiar stairwell with a crowd of people. I was initially confused about why we were all there. Then I realized that there was some sort of quarantine situation happening with COVID, which had resurfaced. The quarantine was sort of like a prison, and me and the crowd had escaped and were trying to break free. I kept going up and down the stairs, trying to indirectly see which floors were safe to enter. Sometimes I’d hear an alarm and realize it was a bad floor and not go in. There was some man figure who was a hero-type, I heard him giving his phone number to people; the phone number was actually the number of my waking-life boyfriend. There were blockades on the stairs to prevent people from entering/exiting, and I saw bosses/executives “skirting the law” as it were by climbing over the blockade. The overall vibe of the dream was confusing and secretive, and eventually became scary when a presumably infected girl entered the stairwell. I knew she was infected because she was coughing and spitting. I heard her threaten “oh you want to get away from me? Come here!” threatening to infect the crowd. We started panicking and I was unable to run away, prompting me to wake up before getting caught.
